There’s a koan that goes, “No”.

There’s a song called “No”, the singer is responding to someone who’s bugging her, maybe she’s gone out for drinks with friends, or she’s at a party, but she wants to be left alone for the moment. She says:

Nah to the ah to the, no, no, no
My name is no
My sign is no
My number is no

You need to let it go
You need to let it go

The koan is like that, too. Sometimes my mind bugs me, it won’t leave me alone, it keeps presenting me with arguments and counter arguments and stupid conclusions and pretends it’s the only thing in the room. Sometimes it’s good to say, “No.”

Join us for meditation and the chance to see what else appears when the answer is no.
