Footsteps of Desire

Footsteps in the hallway.
Is that you my love?

Buddhism has often taught that desire is the cause of our suffering and that our path must be one of extinguishing desire. And there’s something inviting about the idea of achieving an inner peace that’s free of the tumult and heartache that often accompanies desire. But what’s your experience of longing? When and where do you feel it in yourself, and where does it take you?
